Measuring guidelines for Roller Shades

Precise width and length measurements are critical. Fabric width cannot be altered after the shading is fabricated.

Please use a metal tape measure for accuracy from home to factory.

The headrail must be installed perfectly level and installed evenly to ensure smooth operation. On an inside mount, it is recommended that you check to see that the mounting surface is level and consistent. If your soffit needs to be leveled, this should be done before measuring.

Measuring Instructions

INSIDE MOUNT
Mark order “Inside Mount”. Using a Metal Tape, Measure across the inside width of your window opening where the roller shade brackets will be installed to the nearest 1/8”. Factory will deduct 1/8” to ensure proper fit. Measurements should be taken within the window jamb. NOTE: If the middle and bottom measurement vary more than 1/2”, call before ordering. Be exact, the factory will make the necessary deductions to fit the window opening.

Measure the length of the window opening from the underside of the soffit to the surface of the window sill in two places - use the smallest of these two measurements.

Inside mount blinds are installed inside the window casing. Check to be sure your window opening is deep enough to accommodate the mounting hardware and headrail which is 3 1/2" for a flush mount. Call or e-mail us for specific details.

OUTSIDE MOUNT
Measure the exact width and length of the area to be covered. On the width, add at least 1" of overlap on each side of the opening or window casing. Add a minimum of 3 1/2" - 4" length to allow for the headrail or mounting brackets if you are mounting above the window casing. Call or e-mail us for specific details.

Be sure to take into consideration any obstruction such as window trim, molding, locks and window cranks.

Fabric will measure ordered width less 1"

Standard Spring Roller System
Headrail will measure ordered width plus 3/16"
Fabric will measure ordered width less 1" - 1 1/8'
