 |
Let’s get this season kicked off right. We know that everyone wants blinds and window coverings for Christmas right? How about plantation shutters, or beautiful roman shades. What about Hunter Douglas Silhouettes or Comfortex Shangri-La’s. Many of these products are on sale right now.
Last year we gave the first 25 orders an extra 10% off. But we are about to give you something even better. On November 24th, save an extra 10% off any order you place. This includes items that are already on sale! That’s AMAZING! Call it our holiday event and gift to you. This Black Friday sale will go fast and the extra 10% off ends November 25th.
So you better hurry, log on, and place your Christmas orders the morning of November 24th. |
The 10% off will be taken when the order is pulled off the internet and you will get an e-mail confirmation with your new price. For example, if you ordered a BlindsOnSale Natural Woven Treasures in color Dusk Reeds that was 36 X 60, our everyday low price is $69.00. The Woven Woods are on sale right now for $5.00 off per shade which would make your price 65.00. Now take an extra 10% off. Your final price would be $58.80!! The higher your order total, the greater amount you will save! It’s a win, win situation and our gift to you, our loyal customers.
We just wanted to say thank you and happy holidays. What will we think of next? You tell us. We would love to get your ideas for sale items and promotions, just send an e-mail to us, include your name and e-mail address.

Holiday Designer Tips and Trade Secrets |

 |
Christmas Decorating by Design
Decorating your home for the holidays follows the same design principles as selecting new paint, furniture, or flooring.
Each will need a color scheme, a theme or style, and the materials to carry it through.
In addition, every design project gains focus and consistency by following some solid design principles.
What are the principles that can be applied to room design as well as holiday decor? They include symmetry, repetition, color harmony, coordinating patterns, designating a focal point, and more.
Here are some ways to use these principles for the holidays...
Formal or Informal? - This may be your first decision before choosing holiday decorations. Do you want formal silver candlesticks or rustic twig hurricanes? Do you prefer a homespun quilted tree skirt or a traditional velvet version? Deciding on the degree of formality can give your decorating both focus and harmony.
Color Harmony - Choosing a color scheme will make all of your decorating decisions easier. Select a color scheme based on things you already have, on a favorite holiday decoration, on appropriate colors for your theme, or based on the colors in your home.
Proportion - Vary the size of the elements used in holiday decor. For example, decorate your tree with a mix of small, medium, and larger ornaments. Or, pair garlands in varying widths for more interest, or even mix light sizes on the tree. Use holiday nosegays to make a statement.
Repeat, Repeat, Repeat - Add consistency throughout your holiday decor by repeating colors, themes, and decorating elements. If your choice is "red beaded fruit" for example, then use it on your front door wreath, on your stairway garland, on your Christmas tree, and in your centerpiece. |

Use this principle of repetition for a color scheme, choice of ribbons, patterns, ornaments, and motifs.
Repetition also means that you'll need to make, or purchase, enough of something to really make a statement. Collect elements over the years or make a commitment to buy 10 bolts of the "perfect" ribbons to get the look you want.
Add Texture - Aim for a mix of texture in holiday decor. Use matte as well as shiny glass ornaments. Bring in soft velvet tree skirts, smooth candles, sparkling crystal, glittering twigs, rough baskets, sugary gingerbread, fragrant cinnamon sticks, green pine boughs, craggy pinecones, or any other elements that will contribute to your theme and color scheme, and add texture.
The Power of a Theme - You might be fond of Santas, snowmen, or angels. If so, you'll gravitate toward decorations in your chosen theme. Build your collection and use these items to create your own special holiday decor.
