Ordering & Measuring |
|
|
Most Common Errors When Ordering
| 1. |
Mounting information (inside or outside) is not specified. |
| 2. |
Control position (left or right) is not specified (Continuous Loop). |
| 3. |
Color invalid or color name and color number do not match. |
| 4. |
Width and height measurements ordered are under/over allowed product specifications. |
| 5. |
Shades that must be manufactured as a two or three on one headrail are missing required customer approval. |
| 6. |
Product type is not verified. |
| 7. |
Purchase order number or reorder reason is missing. |
| 8. |
Order is not verified by store associate to ensure there is no missing information and the order is legible. |
|
Measuring Information
Measure each window individually as size variances are common. Record width first, then height (also referred to as length) to the nearest 1⁄8". Measure width from left to right, height from top to bottom using a steel tape measure. Do not use a cloth tape. |
|
|
INSIDE MOUNT
Inside mount shades are installed inside the window casing. See feature page for minimum depth.
| 1. |
Measure the exact inside width of window casing from one inside edge to the other in three different places. Record the narrowest measurement. |
 |
| 2. |
Measure the exact height in three different places from top edge of opening to top of sill. Record the longest measurement. |
| 3. |
Measure the window diagonally in two places as shown. If the two diagonal dimensions are not equal, we recommend an outside mount application for optimal shade function and aesthetics. |
| 4. |
Do not take deductions. Allowances are made at the factory to ensure a perfect fit. |
TIPS
During the shipping process, the natural material may have shifted slightly due to its woven construction, causing slight shortening of the shade's length or uneven edges.
HEIGHT – If after installation, shade is slightly shorter than ordered, grasp the bottom of the shade and gently pull to stretch the shade to preferred height. Some materials will also stretch by themselves over time.
UNEVEN EDGES – Lightly tap the shade's edge with a flat edge (ex. ruler) until even. |
OUTSIDE MOUNT
Outside mount shades are installed outside the window casing, covering an area larger than the window itself.
| 1. |
Measure the exact width to be covered. Be sure the measurement overlaps the window opening by at least 11⁄2" on each side (3" total overlap) to ensure light control and privacy. |
 |
| 2. |
Measure exact height to be covered, including desired overlap (typically from top edge of molding to bottom edge, or to top of sill if there is one). |
STACK HEIGHT CHART
| CONTROL TYPE |
APPROX STACK |
| Standard Control |
83⁄4" - 93⁄4" |
| Continuous Loop Control |
10" - 11" |
NOTE: Stack height is measured from the top of the headrail to the lowest point of the shade when the shade is completely raised. Stack heights are approximate. |
Natural Shades may have variations and visual inconsistencies in color, grain and texture. They may also crack or split, twist or bow, shrink or stretch, and change color over time due to aging, direct sunlight or other climatic conditions. These unique characteristics are inherent in natural materials and are not considered defects in material or workmanship. Exact color matches cannot be guaranteed. |
